Service Description

In this 90-minute session, you'll learn how to create an inclusive online presence that welcomes everyone, including the 42.5 million Americans living with disabilities. This class, led by accessibility expert Katie James, will guide you through the essentials of web accessibility, from understanding the key principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to practical tips for making your website, social media, and digital content accessible to all. Whether you’re new to the concept or looking to enhance your existing digital spaces, this session will provide actionable steps to ensure your online content is welcoming, engaging, and accessible to every member of your community. The class recording will be made available to all who register. The cost is per church/organization, not per individual. About Katie: Katie James is a marketing and communications professional with over 15 years’ experience in a variety of business settings. She has worked in corporate roles, as well as in non-profit organizations and the church. Most recently, she is engaged in market research and brand discovery with a Pittsburgh-based non-profit that focuses on enriching the lives of children with disabilities and helping them grow into who they want to be. Her passion for branding and quality communication has also led her to engage in contract work with various types of clients, from ad design for a Mrs. Pennsylvania America contestant, to establishing a brand and brand guidelines for a local distillery, to web design and social media template creation for a start-up vegan food delivery service, and even brand storytelling for an international non-profit focused on education in Sierra Leone, Africa. She has also taught classes for The Church Network and other clients on branding, social media, and storytelling. Outside of work, Katie is an avid hiker and backpacker, having recently backpacked in the Grand Canyon from rim to river and back, a challenge only accomplished by 1% of annual visitors. She is also an animal lover, book nerd, and enjoys spending time with her three favorite people on the planet: her nieces and nephew.
